Literacy

Literacy has always been an important part of the curriculum at Bow. The English department are continually promoting and developing strong approaches to raising standards in literacy.

To ensure we are constantly improving our literacy levels, progress reports are held with the direct involvement of the headteacher. 

The enthusiasm and co-operation for the drive to improve literacy is evident across the whole school. Posters, books and notices in and around the school demonstrate that Bow Boys is a school where everyone enjoys and takes part in reading. We are keen for staff to share more and develop good practice co-operatively and develop staff training sessions devoted to literacy.

In Bow, staff training, co-operation and involvement, is creating an environment where that is not only possible, it can also be enjoyable. Most importantly, Bow boys are confident and enthusiastic readers.
