Remote Learning

Homework

Students should continue to ensure that they complete and submit the homework they are set to the best of their ability. Engagement in independent study is a crucial indicator of future success. Those students who are must successful engage with their homework and recognise the value this has.

Remote Learning

We may, on occasion, have to make the decision to ask groups of students or year group bubbles to remain at home. We will, under all such circumstances, act following the advice we receive from the Department for Education and Public Health England.

We remain committed to ensuring that students continue to receive high quality learning when they have to remain at home.

All remote learning activities will take place through Google Classrooms. You can access this via – www.classroom.google.com .

To support understanding of how we will organise remote learning we have split the possible scenarios into tiers. These are:

Tier 1  A small number of students are self-isolating
Tier 2 Whole classes, bubbles are isolating or there is a full closure

In the case of Tier 1:

  • Students who are self-isolating should follow their normal timetable each day.
  1. All resources will be accessible on Google Classrooms.
  2. Resources will support guided and independent practice, focussing on self-study and will normally include either a Powerpoint with a voice over, worksheet or booklet.
  3. Students, upon completion of work, should upload this via Google Classrooms so that their teacher can provide feedback

In the case of Tier 2:

Lessons will be delivered through a mixture of live and resource based activities. The exact proportion of these is detailed in the table below:

In the timetables provided, those highlighted in yellow are lives lessons where students are expected to attend virtually. The remanining lessons are resource-based, for which resources can be accessed through Google Classrooms.
