We have been judged as providing our students with a satisfactory and improving education. We are extremely pleased that inspectors recognised the significant improvements made since our last inspection, particularly in the areas of teaching and student progress. We are determined to build on the successes achieved to date and look forward to working with the entire school community to improve in the areas outlined in the report.
Inspectors found that:
- Students show their enjoyment of school in their high attendance. They say that they like coming to school because others are welcoming and they have positive attitudes to learning
- Much has been accomplished since the last inspection
- Better teaching, guidance and support which has resulted in good learning for students and accelerated their progress
- Students show their enjoyment of school in their high attendance
- Students are reflective about their work and have a good understanding of their targets
- Students are making increasingly rapid gains in their learning
- Their [students’] economic and financial awareness is promoted well through a range of activities, including an enterprise morning for Year 8
- Students praise the many educational, cultural and sporting opportunities
- Students gain greatly from their contribution to the wider community
- Many examples of strong teaching which engages and motivates students well
- Attainment is rising
- The school is well led and staff are committed to making the school better
