Out of hours learning
Out of hours learning at Bow forms part of our approach to providing extended services for the Bow School Maths and Computing Community. It seeks to support the raising of achievement by motivating students to become more effective learners through activities that enrich, enable and extend the curriculum. The programme aims to be diverse and includes subject specific enrichment and those designed to develop key skills.
Bow School of Maths and Computing also invites approved external agencies to offer additional Out of School Hours Learning. Students from all years have enjoyed Drama Classes, Martial Arts classes and Bike Stunt Shows from external agencies.
At Bow School of Maths and Computing we aim to deliver a programme that is tailored to the needs of our learners. Ideas for after school clubs are discussed in student council meetings, form time and online through the ICT blog. Clubs are run before school starts, during lunch times and after school so learners have different times they can choose to attend. Clubs are run weekly by dedicated members of teaching and support staff.
Please see below for a more detailed overview of the clubs and rationale of our Out of hours school programme.
