Prefects

Our Head Boy is Mitu Miah and the two Deputy Head Boys are Jamie Burnett and Moshin Raja. The voting was very close this year and the standard of candidate was very high. It was only two votes that secured the Head Boy position. 

Thank you to all students and staff who voted for them and also for our new prefects.  All nominated boys should be very proud of their achievements.

Our prefects are Mitu Miah, Jamie Burnett, Moshin Raja, Abdul Sikder, Thoha Hussain, Alamin Hussain, Syed Ibrahim Ali, Hubibul Islam, Rafiqur Rahman, Shahinoor Hussain, Abdul Mibdui, Darien Williams and Ajefor Miah.

Prefects have an essential role in working with and for the school community to ensure the smooth running of different aspects of the school day.

Our Prefects are:

  • Approachable members of school to whom both students and staff can come for assistance or support and

      an example of the personal and academic standards expected at school, to both peers and younger pupils.

Prefect duties include:

  • Following and enforcing the school rules
  • Monitoring specific areas of the school during break and lunchtime
  • Helping with the running of assemblies
  • Conducting tours of the school for prospective parents and guests
  • Assisting at school functions
  • Helping at parents’ evenings – together with the relevant Year Learning Manager
  • Organising fundraising events
  • Helping at Prize giving and Speech Days
  • Supporting with organising school trips
  • Meeting with and reporting to Mr Stein to discuss any issues arising with the school as a whole

 

Head Boy and Senior Prefects

The Head Boy is one prefect who is nominated and voted by staff and their year group, to lead and represent the school, ensuring the school’s values and vision is upheld at all times.

To be eligible for the position, the prefect must be able to demonstrate and sustain:

  • An exceptional attendance and behaviour record,
  • Commitment to the school through academic and cultural involvement,
  • Leadership,
  • A vision for their leadership.

The Senior Prefect is also one prefect who is appointed to maintain the standard duties and responsibilities of all Prefects.
