School Improvement Plan 2011-12
Vision and Purpose
We want all students to leave Bow School having achieved their full potential and developed the skills they need to ensure that they are able to take play an active and positive role within the local, national and international communities that they will be part of. As a result we will need to:
- Deliver learning experiences that take into account each student’s individual ability levels and learning needs and respond to this by providing them with the appropriate level of challenge at all times.
- Ensure that all students are actively engaged in all aspects of their school life.
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning and help them develop successful techniques to allow them to become effective independent learners.
- Seek at all times, through a comprehensive programme of marking and assessment, to provide every student with the appropriate level of regular and accurate feedback that will allow them to reflect upon their progress and potential and act upon the advice given.
- Create opportunities within the whole school curriculum for students to develop and expand their key skills of literacy, numeracy and ICT and manage this provision to make certain that all students are improving these skills in line with their individual levels of ability and potential.
