Geography
We aim to offer students a wide variety of ways in which to develop a sense of place, an appreciation of the environment and an understanding of global citizenship. To improve knowledge, understanding and developing skills and techniques through field work.
As a foundation subject in the National Curriculum, Geography is indispensable to an understanding of the modern world. As such, it should be studied for a reasonable amount of time by all pupils. It aims to provide a worthwhile and interesting educational experience for all pupils through a variety of teaching and learning strategies.
- Geography explores the relationship between the Earth and its people through the study of place, space and environment thereby helping pupils to develop a real concern and sense of responsibility for the care of the world in which they live.
- Geography aims to enhance pupils' natural curiosity about the environment and to develop enquiring minds in order that they can both understand and question geographical issues.
- Geography aims to encourage pupils to have respect for themselves and others through an understanding of the community in which they live.
- Geography provides an opportunity for all pupils to enjoy the subject through the provision of a wide range of activities and situations.
