History
History is no longer just the learning of past battles and dates; it is a subject that promotes thinking and analysis as well as reasoning skills.
What our students are studying:
Yr 7: Introduction to History & Medieval Realms
From William the Conqueror to Richard the Lion heart, learn what it was like to live at a time where battles were fought by the sword and the Black Death could come knocking at your dirty door!
Yr 8: The Making of the UK 1500-1750
A torturous time, of loyalties divided and Monarchs married to England. Learn how Parliament emerged and how a small bakery fire would have such a great impact on a Country already having to survive separation within.
Yr 9: The Twentieth Century World
How did two bullets lead to over twenty million deaths? At a time where pupils can still empathise with many of the key concepts that shaped the century, we consider the nature of mankind – and our response.
GCSE: International Relations 1919 – 1945, Germany & USA and Britain
History has proven a popular choice at GCSE at Bow with two thirds of Yr 10 currently entered for the course.
