Specialist Status
A commitment to excellence.
In September 2008, Bow School achieved specialist status in Maths and Computing. We are very proud of this achievement, particularly in subjects that play such an important part in the Government’s plans to raise standards in secondary education.
We now have a special focus on all subjects relating to Maths and Computing as well as continuing to provide a broad and balanced curriculum to all students. Working in partnership with local partner schools means that the benefit of our new status is shared with other schools and the wider community.
The Maths and Computing specialist status will continue to help raise standards of achievement at Bow School and will aid the development of innovative approaches to the teaching and learning of all subjects as well as those of the specialism – leading to whole school improvement.
We now lead in sharing resources and actively engaging with business and industry to promote the use of Maths and Computing outside of school.
