What You Need to Know

School Uniform

Bow School students are expected to wear the school uniform listed below. High standards of dress are required at all times, reinforcing the standards of appearance and behaviour that are needed to meet and maintain high expectations.

Trousers

Plain black, tailored trousers.
Trousers must not be denim or cord or bear any pattern.
Trousers must be secured around the waist, with a belt if necessary, and under garments must not show.

Jumpers

Grey, v-neck school sweaters with the school badge.
Students may not wear any other type of sweater, sweatshirt or cardigan.
Sweaters, sweatshirts and cardigans may not be worn in place of a coat.

Shirts

Plain, white shirts.
Polo type shirts are not permitted.
Students must not wear coloured t-shirts or other garments underneath their shirts.
Shirts must be buttoned up to the collar and tucked into trousers.
Shirt collars must be worn turned down.

Ties

All students must wear the school’s green tie.
The tie must be tied correctly, with the short section of the tie behind and the school logo showing below the knot.
Student Leaders wear a red tie.

Shoes

Plain black shoes.
Shoes should not have any other colour on them and should not display designer type logos.

Jewellery

Students may wear a watch, a signet ring and small stud earrings.
Students must not wear key chains, large rings with stones or any type of jewellery not specified above.

Coats

When outdoor coats are worn they should not display any large emblems or writing.
Students may not substitute sweat type tops or cardigans for a coat.

Gloves

Must not be worn in lessons.

Hooded tops

Hooded sweat tops are not to be worn to school.

Hats and Headwear

Students may not wear any type of hat or cap.
Bandanas, headbands, combs, etc are not permitted to be worn.
