The TOWER HAMLETS BOOK AWARD 2009 WINNER was:
THE DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: RODERICK RULES

Last November students from all the schools in Tower Hamlets got to vote for their favourite book from a shortlist of 6.
Bow students did a lot of reading before they voted and their choice was also the overall winner.
Then in December some of the READING CHAMPIONS got to go to the GRAND FINALE AWARD CEREMONY where they did a presentation based on the reviews students had written after reading the shortlisted books.
This was the culmination of their involvement in the award as some of them had been involved in helping to select the long-list of books way back in June last year.
They were highly commended for their presentation and received several compliments for their politeness and excellent behaviour.
