Country Children's Holiday Residential

25 September 2009

On Friday the 25th September, 20 students from Year 7 and 8 went to a residential centre near Brighton for the weekend. We left straight after school and caught the train from Victoria to Hassocks.  When we arrived at the house we played on the mountain bikes, the trampolines, the adventure playground and the basketball court.

At night, after dinner, we went night walking across fields to a big mountain. We all walked up to the top and looked out over the village lights below. Some of us went a little bit higher up the mountain and rolled down the grass.

In the morning after breakfast we all went on the mini bus and drove to the go-kart track. When we got there we where split into groups and we all had seven minutes of trial laps in our group of four. After we all had our trial laps we got to go on the bigger track and they made the go-karts go faster then we were timed to see who was the fastest. The first three positions got medals and the winner got a trophy.

After the go-kart racing we all went to the beach for a swim. When we finished swimming, we had a big lunch with lots of food. The weather was sunny and it was nice and warm so we also played games like Frisbee and cricket. At night we relaxed on the bean bags and watched a DVD.

On Sunday morning just after breakfast we went to a massive leisure centre with a swimming pool. We went to the swimming pool and it wasn't just any swimming pool it was a super, incredible and a fantastic pool it had loads of attractions; slides, rapids, outdoor rapids and an outdoor pool. It's the best swimming pool anyone can imagine. We stayed there for about two hours enjoying the rapids and the slides. After we finished enjoying ourselves we had showers and went back for a roast dinner before beginning our journey home to London.
