Gilbert's £Multi-Billion Presentation Takes First Prize

Merrill Lynch Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (MLEE) Presentation Skills CompetitionWhy do footballers get paid more than doctors? That was the question that Gilbert Sabakaki from Bow School posed and attempted to answer in the 2008 Merrill Lynch Enterprise and Entrepreneurship (MLEE) Presentation Skills Competition.

Gilbert's amusing but also thought provoking presentation given at Merrill Lynch's King Edward Hall in the City of London, won first prize in the competition. Students from Mulberry School for Girls took the runner-up slots.

Tower Hamlets EBP's Ken McCarthy, who manages the MLEE Programme said: "At one level, Gilbert's presentation was a light-hearted expose of UK society but, at another level, a highly accurate presentation of the economic forces that drive the £multi-billion football industry."

The contest was open to students from Bow, Mulberry and Swanlea students who participate in the MLEE programme with each competitor required to make a presentation on an aspect of business or enterprise.
