Imperial War Museum Reward Trip History/English

As a reward for outstanding effort and achievement in History and English 40 year 9 pupils were invited to the Imperial War Museum. The cross-curricular trip was a fantastic opportunity for the boys to make links between the work they have been studying on the World Wars in History and the novels/poetry they have been studying in English.

During the visit pupils experienced a ‘real’ trench (it was very cramped and smelt disgusting!), went on part of a submarine, and viewed a number of exhibits related to World War I and II. This was an invaluable experience for pupils, and one which will stay with them for a long time.
