A Rainbow Picnic At Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

A Rainbow Picnic At Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Can you imagine embracing nature as well as your cultural heritage in one of the greenest places in London?

On Monday, 17th July whilst the World Para Athletics Championship 2017 games were being played at the Olympic stadium, our EAL ‘picnickers’ enjoyed the beautiful weather and friendly competitive atmosphere as they embraced diversity.

A group of girls from Y8, Y9 and Y10 spent the afternoon at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park embracing the Bow Way. Not only did they share food from the countries they came from, but they also learnt how many languages were spoken within the group and about the vast and different cities the group originally came from.

The group had lots of fun playing games, improving skills in confidence building, teamwork and communication.  They had the opportunity to share some of the positive experiences they had living in London as well as the challenges they faced as newly arrived students from overseas.

A lovely day out to mark the end of term, celebrating each other, acknowledging how much they have achieved and working together every step of the way.
