Big bang fair 2015 – 30th June 2015, Newham College East Ham Campus
Bow school took 66 KS3 students to The Big Bang London, held at Newham College East Ham. This was a regional event part of Big Bang UK which host events to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math’s for young people in the UK
The day was made up of:
-- Hands-on exhibitions where our students we able to wander around the stalls and engage with the interactive STEM on offer. Activities included robots, heat cameras, luminous algae, construction and much, much more.
-- Drop-in sessions - again, our students moved between the range of drop-in sessions that were happening around the college.
It was a brilliant (and very hot) day with the pupils behaving amazingly. Highlights included Peter McCartney winning a USB bracelet for solving a physics puzzle, sending messages across a laser beam, changing a formula one tyre, Mr Addai breaking the ramp while driving a mobility scooter and the squeamish looks as the pupils touched a real snake.
