Bow Achieves Second Place at Jack Petchey SpeakOut Challenge Regional Final

Before the Easter break, two of our Year 10 students represented the school at the Jack Petchey SpeakOut Challenge Regional Final, following their participation in workshops delivered in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.

The event brought together talented speakers from across the borough, each delivering a prepared speech to a live audience and panel of judges.

Hussain delivered a thoughtful and engaging speech on the art of patience, combining humour with a clear and well-paced message that resonated strongly with the audience.

Maymunah followed with an inspiring speech on the strength we don’t see. Her delivery was articulate and impactful, exploring the importance of inner strength across mind, body and soul, and connecting her ideas powerfully to real-life experiences.

Competing against 16 students from across the borough, both students performed with confidence and maturity. We are delighted to share that Bow School achieved second place overall, with Maymunah named Regional Runner-Up.

This marks a significant achievement for the school and reflects the growing strength of student voice, confidence and public speaking within our community.

We are incredibly proud of both students for their dedication, courage and outstanding representation of the school. Opportunities such as this play a vital role in developing communication skills, self-belief and ambition - qualities that will support students well beyond the classroom.
