Bow Alumni Becomes Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets
The Young Mayor is the voice of the young people across Tower Hamlets Borough, working closely with other young people and services to understand their issues and raise concerns. This year, the voting process involved thousands of voters across Tower Hamlets following a week-long election in October, which saw every education setting in the borough participate.
We are incredibly proud to announce that Tahmid Hussen, Bow alumni, has been elected as the new Young Mayor, securing the majority of votes. In his manifesto, Tahmid said he would help young people in Tower Hamlets to become “the best versions of themselves.” He pledged to address three main issues during his tenure: relationships and recipes to success; career paths; and social media and mental health. Congratulations!
“I would like to thank all the amazing candidates who stood in the election for Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets. Together, we will make Tower Hamlets the best borough in London. We have big things to do and this promises to be one of the best times of our lives” Tahmid Hussen, Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets
