Bow students show us their singing talent!

28 Bow students went on a trip to York Hall in Bethnal Green on Tuesday 3rd December to take part in some workshops organised by THAMES (Tower Hamlets arts and Music Education Service.) There were three workshops across the day, the first run by Rachel Staunton from London Youth Choir, the second run by Isabelle Adams from Spitalfields Music and the third run by Oscar Wood from THAMES and Upstage Performance Group.

Pupils performed a number of songs during the day but particularly enjoyed a preparing a two part rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s True Colours and Wings by Little Mix.

Students were brilliantly behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to sing with 9 other choirs from various secondary schools across the borough.

There were 225 pupils there in total and they blended beautifully to create a wall of sound which permeated every corner and crevice of the hall, particularly during Crowd Out! – a new piece lead by Isabelle Adams during the second workshop.

Well done to those involved, and don’t forget to come to choir on a Monday lunchtime to reinforce and build upon what you have learnt!
