Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Expedition Success

Congratulations to our Year 9 students, who have successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) qualifying expedition in Epping Forest.

Over the course of the expedition, students put their navigation, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test as they planned routes, carried their equipment, prepared meals and camped overnight. Despite the challenges, they demonstrated resilience, determination and an excellent attitude throughout.

The expedition assessors were particularly impressed by the way the group worked together. Whether navigating through Epping Forest, organising camp, cooking meals or supporting one another during activities, students consistently showed excellent collaboration and maturity. The expedition also provided plenty of memorable moments, including an evening campfire talent show, helping students build friendships and confidence alongside developing valuable life skills.

Congratulations to Afan, Ava, Dyja, Gabrielius, George-Augustin, Hannah, Isma, Izyan, Maryam, Sheikh Musa, Soliana, Temera and Abdul-Raheim, who all passed their qualifying expedition with flying colours.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Beck and Mr Kalam for supporting the visit and transporting students safely to and from the expedition.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award provides young people with opportunities to develop resilience, independence and teamwork through real-world challenges. We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students for embracing the experience and representing Bow School so positively throughout the expedition.
