Construction Youth Trust Programme
Our Year 10 students have participated in the Construction Youth Trust Programme, a social mobility charity and their mission is to inspire and enable young people to overcome barriers and reach their full career potential.
As part of the Construction Youth Trust Programme, our Year 10 students have taken part in a variety of interactive workshops designed to inspire and prepare them for future careers. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, from employability and academic skills to creative digital interior design. Students also enjoyed hands on challenges such as using spaghetti and marshmallows to create the tallest tower. They also used Lego items to build a bridge. Alongside these activities, industry volunteers visited our school and have provided information about their current role, career path and the potential routes for particular roles. Students also have visited some construction sites and wore protective equipment.
The programme is fantastic, offering our students valuable work experience opportunities that gave them real insight into the skills, roles and career pathways available within the construction industry.
