F1 Cars Mechspace Workshop at UCL

Last term, student shad the opportunity to take part in a Formula 1 workshop, at University College London.

The workshop focused on model testing, car design, CNC machining, 3D printing and alternative forms of manufacturing. Students were also delighted to meet previous competition winners, along with UCL Professors and competition judges.

The highlight of the day was at the testing workshop, in which students were able to analyse their individual reaction times by racing model cars down an official competition track, with cars reaching up to 75km/hr.

Our students were thrilled with the result of having the best reaction times of the day! They also enjoyed the design workshop, where they were coached through a fusion tutorial by a previous champion and were able to discuss important aspects of their own designs.
