GCSE Superstars!

GCSE results show that there is no limit to students’ aspirations.

We are delighted to share with you that GCSE results day again saw Bow School students opening envelopes to discover a stunning set of results.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades have been awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.

Our delighted Headteacher, Danny Lye, said: "Students are understandably thrilled with their achievements after the challenges that they have faced because of the pandemic.

"The fact that they haven’t been able to sit external exams should not detract from the determination and adaptability they have shown in unprecedented circumstances. These results have been hard earned through a rigorous internal process and students are rightly thrilled with their achievements."

Each teacher has challenged us to strive beyond our limits, making us as students understand that there is no boundary on our aspirations.

One such student is Tahmid, who amongst 11 grades secured eight at the maximum score of 9, the equivalent to what would have been A**. He spoke at length about the quality of education he has received at Bow School, “Each teacher has challenged us to strive beyond our limits, making us as students understand that there is no boundary on our aspirations”.

The school’s fantastic World and Career Ready ethos means we have lots of opportunities to go out into the workplace. When we see what our future can be it inspires us to do better in school.

His peer, Poppy, who similarly achieved an outstanding set of results, echoed that of Tahmid, commenting that “The school’s fantastic World and Career Ready ethos means we have lots of opportunities to go out into the workplace. Coupled with our incredible sixth form results, this has been another fantastic week. Our students continue to demonstrate that anything is possible when you are a part of Bow School.
