Highlights from Sixth Form

The abundance of latest news from Bow Sixth Form has been wide-ranging and uplifting – here are the highlights!

New Head of Sixth Form: We are delighted to announce that Mr Khan has been appointed to the position of the Head of Year 12 and 13 – welcome to the team!

University here we come: All Bow students that have applied to university have received an offer from one of their chosen universities – huge congratulations to each and every one of you!

Building the world, we want to live in: A group of Y12 students attended the programme YoungPower 2022 led by an American school in London and held at Westminster Academy. Our students explored a range of topical subjects including sexual gender, racial equality, and climate justice. In keeping with our principles of sharing good practice, students that attended the event fed back to their respective tutor groups.

Time for tea and cake: To mark the first two weeks of exams, we took the time to celebrate with Y13s in the Sixth Form garden.

Fundraising efforts: We were able to raise £530 in memory of Mr Khales and the funds have been donated to build a well foundation; here are images of students actually making some of the treats in the food technology room.

Running Clubs

Sixth Formers have been taking leadership roles to a new level this year and have been leading on a range of school clubs, including Chess and Music. A number of students are also lunchtime supervisors with duties that include supervising students in differing parts of the school.

“The Music Club has been great to supervise. This opportunity has helped me build my confidence in a work environment and given me an insight into the responsibilities of teachers.” Daniel Evan, Y12
