London School Athletics Championships
Students selected to represent Tower Hamlets in the London School Athletics Championships
On 13th June 2017 a group of students were selected to represent Tower Hamlets at Mile End Stadium in the London School Athletics Championships, following their brilliant performances representing Bow School.
- Anwar (9B) missed out on a medal in the High Jump but came 5th overall out of 20 competitors on the day, so he is now the 5th best high jumper in London for his age
- Lucas (8L), Isabella (8C) and Frankie (8O) missed out on medals, but by getting through to the competition yesterday are placed in the top 20 for their events in London, which is amazing.
- Special congratulations, though, must go to Musa (8S) and Alika (8H). Musa is now the 3rd fastest Year 7 in the whole of London over 100m for his age group. He ran a time of 12.5 in the heat and then 12.4 in the final (the winner ran 12.2 so it was a very close race). Alika was part of the Tower Hamlets Year 7 Relay Team who came second overall in a very exciting final race.
