Language Landscape Project

Students from Y8 are currently taking part in a Language Landscape project as part of their Modern Foreign Languages lessons, run by PhD students from the School of African Studies, one of London’s top universities. Not only are they having lessons in linguistics and the history of languages from experts in their fields, they are also learning how to make electronic recordings of their own home languages and building an interactive map which can be found online at www.languagelandscape.org. They will be travelling to SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) later in the year to present their projects in front of university students and pupils from other schools.
