Monday 9 September 2024 UCL Engineering Festival On Thursday 18th July 2024, Year 7, 8 & 9 STEM Club students who were working towards the Crest award project, Formula 1 Cars project attended The UCL Engineering festival at UCL as part of their enrichment programme.

Thursday 5 September 2024 Heritage Day 2024 Before the summer holidays commenced, we hosted Heritage Day 2024, and it was a huge success! Thank you so much to those who celebrated their heritage through their dress, those who brought in (delicious) food, and those who came and bought it!

Tuesday 3 September 2024 National Science Week Many activities and competitions were conducted to celebrate the National Science week at school, which culminated in STEM Celebrations Evening, where Headteacher Mr Lye awarded all students with certificates for their participation, and winners with prizes.

Monday 2 September 2024 Earth Day Challenge Earth Day is an annual event where people can participate in numerous events to show their support for environmental protection. The theme for Earth Day 2024 is 'Planet vs. Plastics' and is focussed on ending plastics for the sake of human and planetary health, demanding a 60% reduction in the production of all plastics by 2040.

Wednesday 21 August 2024 Bow MasterChefs This term, Year 8 students visited Stepney City Farm to learn about sustainable farming. During their visit, they toured the farm, learning about the various animals and vegetables. This hands-on experience provided them with a deeper appreciation for the origins of their food.

Monday 19 August 2024 Bow School and Sixth Former Students go for Gold! A huge well done to Arian in Year 8 and Minshad in Year 12 for winning the Academy of Real Assets Essay writing competition. The talented winners attended a Book Launch celebration event held at Savills Margaret Street Estate Agents in July, in recognition of their talent.

Friday 9 August 2024 Innerscope Coaching Programme This year, sixteen Year 9 students participated in a five-week coaching programme delivered by Innerscope, funded by Northeastern University. The programme began with an inspiring keynote speech from award-winning Youth Practitioner James Aidoo.

Tuesday 6 August 2024 Leadership in Focus In May, fourteen Year 9 students from the IntoUniversity program attended a three-day Leadership in Focus course.

Monday 5 August 2024 Welcoming Old Palace Before the summer holidays commenced, our amazing debate team of Year 8s + one student in Y10, hosted 10 Year 5 pupils from Old Palace Primary, who are also involved in debating.It was another proud moment to see our students display such confidence in hosting visitors. Our team created and presented a PowerPoint; a debating booklet for the pupils to take notes and took modelled a 'show debate'. The teams then went head-to-head! Old Palace really showed their spark asking some great POI questions and were so confident in competing - showing no weakness against an older team! The Bow School team were honoured to be defeated by such fantastic opponents. #PrimaryPartnerships

Friday 2 August 2024 Year 10 Shearman & Sterling LLP Mentoring Programme This year, eleven Year 10 students participated in a six-month mentoring program with solicitors from Shearman and Sterling LLP. Throughout the program, the students engaged in valuable discussions with their mentors about their future steps, securing work experience, networking, and various career-related topics.

Monday 29 July 2024 Year 9 Barclays Future Skills workshop This year, fifteen Year 9 students participated in the Barclays Future Skills Programme, organised by the Switch charity. As part of the programme, the students attended three workshops at Barclays' head office in Canary Wharf. These workshops covered essential topics such as job skills, networking, making good first impressions, and exploring options after school. We are very grateful to everyone at Barclays for helping our students make informed decisions about their future careers.

Wednesday 24 July 2024 Construction Youth Trust Programme Students participating in the Construction Youth Trust program had the opportunity to take part in several engaging workshops, such as an interior design challenge and bridge building. The group also visited Canary Wharf Group's latest development, the Wood Wharf project. During the program, students met professionals from various areas within the construction industry. Priyanka, the program leader, has been excellent in engaging our students and has even helped them secure work experience placements with organisations like ISG, TFL, Overbury, and many more. We look forward to hearing more about the project in the next academic year.

Monday 22 July 2024 Proud Prospects The Year 10 Proud Places program, organised by Heritage of London, engaged our students in a comprehensive three-part exploration. They visited Bromley-by-Bow's Memorial Gateway, participated in a stonemasonry workshop, and attended a law insight day at Jones Day law firm.
