Jazz at Lincoln Centre Youth Band Perform at Bow School

On Tuesday 27th February we were exceptionally lucky to have two free performances by one of the finest Youth Jazz Bands from America. The Jazz at Lincoln Centre Youth Band performed two roasting sets to year 7 and 8 in the Waterside Theatre playing big band hits by Duke Ellington and Bill Evans amongst others. The band comprised players from ages 14-18 and were truly phenomenal musicians, drawn from all across the tri-state area in America.

Their ensemble, skill and star soloists were all world class, and we hope this inspires younger Bow Students to take up saxophone, trombone and trumpet here at Bow School.

They are performing at The Barbican this week (where we visited in January) and we wish them all the best on their short UK Tour.
