Music For Youth Proms
On 14th November 2017 the Music Department took 22 pupils to this exciting concert at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. The concert featured a staggering 1,000 pupil performers from across the entire country in a range of musical styles from Steel Pans to full Orchestra and Chorus. The standard was really excellent and pupils got to see, and hear, the national musical benchmark in UK schools. Ensembles included: Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra, Cornwall Youth Orchestra, Elland Silver Youth Band, Greater Gwent Youth Jazz Orchestra, My Style, Novem Consort, Shire Brass Band, St Ann’s CoE Primary School Steel Band, Third Harmony, Valley Park A Cappella Choir, Young Monarch and the staggering Massed Ensemble of Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust and Rutland Music.
The next large scale music trip will be in January when we go to watch the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain perform at The Barbican Centre. Further information about this can be found by visiting their website:
