Musical Pathways Concert
On the 23rd March the Waterside Theatre was packed out with parents and pupils for a stunning concert arranged in conjunction with Bow School, Manorfield Primary School and LCCM (London College of Contemporary Music).
The stage was graced with nearly 200 musically talented pupils and the concert featured the following groups:
- - Manorfield Junior and Senior Choir
- - Brass Ensemble
- - String Ensemble
- - Wind Ensemble
- - Djembe Drummers and Steel Pans
- - Bow School Dance Troupe
- - Bow Choir and The Bow Band performing 'The Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran and 'Take Me To Church' by Hozier.
Our soloists on the night were Jada Balfourth, Lily Wigmore and Murat Bozdag on the Violin.
Finally the LCCM Latin Band raised the roof with a brilliant selection of groovy Latin tunes and had the pupils and parents dancing in the aisles.
A massive thank you to all staff from Bow who helped to organise and prepare the pupils for this event which brought talent from primary, secondary and Higher Education onto the same stage. Thanks also go to Gemma Anderson for the dance routine, Danielle Orlans for directing the choir and all the staff at Bow for arranging and rehearsing the music.
Congratulations must go to all of the performers. Some had never played on stage before, but everyone rose to the occasion and demonstrated every part of the Bow Way by conquering their nerves with professionalism and composure before an intimidatingly big crowd.
We can't wait for more collaborations with local schools and organisations, and we will be taking all of our musicians and dancers to the Tower of London in the Summer for a multi-school spectacular, so please come along and support us then ... watch this space (http://watercitymusic.com/).
