NYO Teen Hangout & BBC Proms
On Saturday 4 Aug 2018 several of our Bow Young Promoters gave up a day of their holidays to put on an amazing Teen Hangout in the prestigious Imperial College next to the Royal Albert Hall. We were joined by pupils from Skinners Academy in Hackney and the pupils once again showed off their presenting skills by working with Tom Redmond from the BBC.
.
Congratulations to all the pupils involved who, yet again, were a credit to the school:

The same evening we were treated to a televised performance by the staggering National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain who performed in the world famous Royal Albert Hall:
- The sea roared and shimmered in Debussy’s La Mer;
- Mussorgsky painted eerie visions of a Witches’ Sabbath; while
- Ligeti’s Lontano summoned the ‘dream worlds of childhood’.
- Ravel’s brooding Concerto for the Left Hand was commissioned by a pianist who lost an arm in the First World War and completed the vibrant programme.
We can't wait for the NYO to come back and perform at the school again this year as part of our ongoing relationship with them.
