Sixth Form students from the Phoenix Satellite class attended a very special Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
On Thursday 12th May, Sixth Form students from the Phoenix Satellite class attended a very special Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, to help celebrate Barnardo’s 150th Anniversary. The boys put on their very best suits and ties, and spent the afternoon being treated to a selection of elegant cakes and sandwiches, music, ice cream and the chance to enjoy the sunshine (luckily) in the Queen’s own back garden. The Duchess of Cornwall made a grand entrance, and Princess Alexandra and The Duchess of Gloucester were also there. There were a few celebrity sightings throughout the event, and students were particularly excited to be chatting to actor Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes), who is an ambassador for Barnardo’s.
We were very proud of the way students conducted themselves so maturely and responsibly. They had a lot of fun and were very thankful to Barnardo’s for the invitation.
