School Council Host EU Visitors
Our Student Council Year Representatives have been working with HEC Global Community Centre and four European partner schools on a community cohesion project. The project began with representatives attending training sessions at the Tower Hamlets Local History Archives Library where they met with participating schools. They discussed the importance of community cohesion and global activism. Students then moved on to organising their first EU partner school visit.
On Thursday 7th March, our Student Council Year Representatives hosted visitors from CIPFP Misericordia College in Valencia, Spain. The day focused on bringing our communities together and working collaboratively to overcome social issues. The School Council organised a presentation showcasing Bow School, a tour, a visit to a STEM fair and a learning walk to several classes – giving the visitors an insight into our vibrant school community.
Students collaborated with our Spanish guests to discuss issues they were passionate about. They also had the opportunity to explore cultural differences.
This project is extremely useful in providing students with the skills and knowledge needed for them to become critical thinkers and proactive contributors to the local and wider community. We are incredibly proud of our Student Council for being such wonderful hosts and for their hard work in putting together a fantastic programme of events.
