Sixth Form Results Day
An offer from Oxford and exceeding previous outcomes: Bow Sixth Form students are World and Career Ready!
Once again, we are proud to announce outstanding student achievements in the 2024 A Level and Vocational examinations, with our students celebrating incredible results and securing places prestigious destinations.
Our Sixth formers and staff have much to celebrate, with the 2024 results matching or exceeding last year’s outcomes, including the number of students achieving at least 3A*-C increasing by 15%.
Year 13 students are now well placed to progress on to their next chapter with confidence, with a number of students securing career opportunities and places at respected universities across the country, including the University of Oxford, Queen Mary’s University, University of Warwick and many more.
Students have excelled across a number of subjects and the percentage of students achieving top grades remains impressive, alongside many individual stories of dedication and achievement. Subject highlights include:
- 92% pass rate at x3 A Levels.
- Average Level 3 Applied (BTEC) outcome: x3 Distinctions.
- 12% of all grades awarded were grade A*
- 39% of all grades awarded were grade A*-A or equivalent.
- 48% of all grades awarded were grade A*-B or equivalent.
- 76% of all grades awarded were grade A*-C or equivalent.
- 80% of all grades awarded in A Level Art were A*A; 100% were A*-B.
- A third of all grades awarded in A Level Computer Science were A*A; 50% were A*B and 81% were A*-C. Overall pass rate was 100%.
- 25% of all grades awarded in A Level Economics were A*A; 53% were A*B and 78% were A*-C. Overall pass rate was 100%.
- 78% of all grades awarded in A Level History were A*-B; 89% of grades were A*-C. Overall pass rate was 100%.
- 25% of all grades awarded in A Level English were A*A; 100% were A*B.
- 6 out of every 10 grades awarded in Maths were A*-C; overall pass rate was 100%.
- Sciences – Average pass rate of 92.5%, with average 50% A*-C across the three disciplines.
- Applied Science average outcomes x3 Distinction.
- Applied Business Studies average outcome x3 Distinction.
- Average A Level Grade improved and is now in line with LBTH average (2023).
We are delighted to share the results of exceptional individual performances from a selection of our aspirational students:
- Muhammad celebrates not only A*A*A*A in Computer Science, Maths, Physics and Economics, but proudly accepts an offer from the University of Oxford, to read Economics and Management.
- Ali achieved an outstanding portfolio including A*A*A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, and must now decide between studying Physics at UCL or Natural Sciences at Cambridge University.
- Batoul is excited to embark on her next chapter at UAL to undertake a Foundation course in Art, before an apprenticeship in Interior Design, her chosen career field. She celebrates AAB in Art, Economics and Psychology.
- Sameur attained D*D*D* in Business, and will begin his apprenticeship with Canary Wharf Group, following his work experience with the prestigious organisation, before a career in Sustainability.
- With A*AB under his belt, Raheem looks forward to studying Computer Science at the City of London University, and a career in software engineering.
- Lawany was thrilled to have attained D*DD in Applied Science and Fatima D*D*D* in Business Studies and are both looking forward to their next chapters at the University of Greenwich, to study Psychology and Human Resources, respectively.
At Bow Sixth Form, our goal is to prepare students for life beyond our school. Experiences are designed to complement their academic studies, encompassing a broad personal development programme, network of local, national and international partnerships, subject specialists who are experts in their field and a curriculum with over 15 subjects. With this in mind, we are confident that every student will leave us World and Career Ready, with a portfolio filled with expertise and experiences that ensure they stand out from the crowd.
