Sixth Form Trip to Natural History Museum
In December, students enjoyed a visit to the iconic Natural History Museum. For some it was their first visit and they were amazed by the vast amount of displays on show. The main purpose of the trip was to take part in The Great Debate. Mimicking the debate from 1960 that focused on Darwin’s new theory of evolution, students engaged in a scintillating back and forth.
One of the museum’s experienced Science Educators prepared them for the discussion through a detailed tour of selected specimens. Students got to see how scientific knowledge has developed over time, and how evidence and peer review has supported this process
