Speakers For Schools Assembly With Samuel West
On Wednesday 3rd April 2019, BowExtra! and the Drama Department hosted a ‘Speakers for Schools’ assembly with Samuel West. Year 10 GCSE Drama students & students on the Talented Drama register attended the talk. The opportunity was offered to us by Speakers for Schools - a UK wide education charity that provides young people in education with access to assembly-style talks from leading, influential figures.
Samuel West is an actor and director. He has played Hamlet and Richard II for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Jeffrey Skilling in Enron in the West End, and was the voice of Pongo in Disney’s 101 Dalmatians II.
His performance in the film Howards End was nominated for a BAFTA award.
Sam encouraged our students to be confident, to work hard and to try new things. As he said: “It’s OK to fail, it’s not all about succeeding, it’s about having a go.”
Students and staff alike are grateful to Sam for sharing his passion and for reaching out to inspire the next generation of creative talent.
We are very fortunate to have such accomplished, leading, influential figures visit Bow School.
