Speakers for Schools Assembly
Speakers for Schools Assembly – Baroness Manningham-Buller
On Wednesday 15th January 2020, Bow School hosted a talk from Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller as part of our ‘Speakers for Schools’ Leadership Programme. Speaking to Year 10 students, Baroness Manningham-Buller openly spoke about her career journey and gave very insightful tips for pupils to use throughout their lives. The talk was refreshing, valuable and inspirational.
Baroness Manningham-Buller exemplifies female leadership by taking risks and not being afraid to rise to each challenge, even when faced with adversity. She encouraged students to be patient, determined and to be genuine and kind to others. She also explained how she has dealt with stress in her high-pressure positions and urged students not to shy away from criticism.
The Q&A session was the highlight of the morning for students, particularly given how curious they were with regards to her career experiences as the former Head of MI5.
Bow School is grateful to the charity ‘Speakers for Schools’, for providing inspirational keynote speakers to motivate our next generation of leaders.
A special thank you to Miss Keith-Young for helping to organise the event and also to Baroness Manningham-Buller for taking the time out of her busy schedule to visit us.
