Sporting Brilliance
At the beginning of December, Year 7 and 8 girls and boys athletics teams participated in the Sports Hall Athletics Tower Hamlets Schools Competition.
For their first Sports competition, all students participation was outstanding, with many great individual and relay performances. The teams finished in the following positions;
- Year 7 boys- 3rd
- Year 8 boys- 4th
- Year 7 girls- 10th
- Year 8 girls- 4th.
At the end of January, Year 7-10 boys athletics team participated in the Indoor athletics Tower Hamlets Schools Competition which was held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. Students placed:
- Year 7 boys- 3rd
- Year 8 boys- 8th
- Year 9 boys- 4th
- Year 10 boys- 2nd.
Overall, Bow School were positioned 5th out of the 10 schools that entered. There were some great individual and team performances and all of the students represented the school so well. Daniel was the performer of the day with a great run in his 400m with the fastest time of all Year 7 pupils in the borough.
The Y7-10 boys also competed in the Indoor athletics Simmonds Cup competition against other school's in London. The teams again represented the school with great enthusiasm and showed resilience and sportsmanship as they competed against top sporting schools in London. Some fantastic results from Bow School were;
- Daniel 7T1- 2nd place in 400m
- Cherno 9P2- 2nd place in Long Jump
- Harry 10T2- 4th place in Long Jump,
The Y7-10 girls athletics team will be competing in the Simmonds Cup on the 1st March where we are sure that again they will represent the school with determination and excellence. Congratulations again to all of our students for their hard work, determination and sportsmanship.
