Students Collect New Bow School Rugby kit From Twickenham

On Sunday 10th March Jahedur Rahman, Naief Ahmed and Yamin Hussain went to Twickenham to collect our new Bow School rugby kit which was designed by the three boys plus William and Rayhan.  Jahedur was presented the kit before the game and was paraded around the ground in front of 82,000 fans. Our school has been involved in a project with the RFU which encourages inner city schools to take up rugby. The project has provided us with new equipment, curriculum support and a pathway for our students into club rugby. Overall the whole of KS3 has benefitted from the project and has led to the school’s first rugby interform competition on the 19th March. Fixtures against other schools have increased with our Yr 9 team seeing out the season unbeaten. We as PE staff look at rugby as more than just teaching the boys a new game. It teaches them to be disciplined and the importance of working as a team.

Well done to the boys who designed the kit and let’s hope we keep our winning streak when wearing it.
