Students Perform For Manorfield Primary

Bow Students Perform to Manorfield Primary School

Murat and Tolga Bozdag (Year 11) performed to hundreds of Manorfield Primary pupils on Tuesday 7th February. We were invited by Will Green, the Head of Music, to perform two half hour concerts/lectures to pupils from Years 3-6. The brothers performed brilliantly on their Turkish Saz instruments and the Manorfield Primary pupils were amazed by the skills of the boys and by their enthusiasm for music - which started when they heard their father playing the Saz at home.

Mr Bourne explained the difference between Primary and Secondary Schools, and the pupils learnt about the history of the Saz dating back to early Ottoman times. The pupils were really interested to learn about life at Bow School and many had brothers or sisters already here.

Murat and Tolga were amazing ambassadors for Bow and demonstrated all aspects of the 'Bow Way' with skilful performances, a professional attitude and candid answers to the many questions they were asked.

We look forward to working with Manorfield Primary school again alongside the London College of Creative Media (LCCM) in a concert on 23rd March featuring singers, dancers and musical performances from Bow pupils alongside steel pans and choirs from Manorfield AND University student performances! This concert will start at 5pm and will be held in the Waterside Theatre so please do come along and support the school and  be part of an exciting and unique event combining primary, secondary and higher/further musical education in the borough all in one concert!

Tickets will be available soon.
