Tower Hamlets Athletics Competition

Congratulations to the girls who participated in the Tower Hamlets Athletics Competition on Tuesday 8th May.

As a school we came 3rd overall in the borough - a massive achievement with some outstanding performances – see below:

  • Year 7 Team: Esemena 1st in Hurdles and 2nd in Javelin; Sephora 2nd in 200m; 3rd in Relay
  • Year 8 Team: Grace 1st in 1,500m; Alika 1st in 100m; Rochelle 1st in Discus; 1st in Relay
  • Year 9 Team: Chardonnay 3rd in Hurdles; Keithia 2nd in High Jump; 3rd in Relay
  • Year 10 Team: Eva 2nd in 1,500m and Long Jump; Ervilte 3rd in 300m and Javelin; Adryann 3rd in 100m and 2nd in Discus

Special mention must also go to Muna, Eva, Grace and Zeynap who ran the 1,500m (3¾ laps) in the heat - their effort and determination was outstanding.

What was really lovely was the encouragement; praise and cheering they all did for each other. Every time one of them came back after an event they all clapped and cheered.  Esemena was the leader of the pack during the races chanting and cheering getting all the girls involved …. Kayleigh Quinn moved up a position in the last 50m of her race as a result of the cheering they all did.

Please have a look at the Bow PE Twitter page for some of the videos of the races and performances.
