Tower Hamlets BasketBall

Last week, students competed in the Basketball Tower Hamlets tournament at the Copperbox Arena. We are incredibly proud of all students, as they represented the school well and were respectful at all times in public and at the venue.

The KS4 team won their group stages and progressed onto the final, and played against Bishop but unfortunately lost 14-9. Bishop got both their teams to the final. They had a player who was 6.5 and dunking for fun and got MVP!

KS3 team also won their group stages and got to the final winning their group games. They played against Bishop and were losing 10-9. Coach Aalit called a time out and gave a motivational tactic talk. With 6 seconds left on the clock Mickel Danville (MVP) jumped up mid court and gained possession he turned round, dribbled and took a shot…… Have a look at the video to see what happens next!

Big thanks to Coach Tarryn who has coached these boys morning, lunch and after school every single day. Big thanks also to Taylor Randall who is our QTS trainee teacher who also coach/helper/photographer on the day.
