What’s Happening in the Science Curriculum?
This half-term, our science curriculum is buzzing with excitement as students across the school dive into the ‘BIG IDEAS’ that fuel our dynamic and ambitious program!
In Year 7, students will uncover the fascinating world of living organisms and dive into hands-on experiments exploring chemical reactions, including neutralization and metal reactions.
Meanwhile, Year 8 will explore energy concepts, investigating waves, how we see light, and hear sound, before moving into the interconnected world of ecosystems and interdependence.
Year 9 will take a deeper, more complex dive into energy and chemical reactions, exploring energy resources, power, and the science of chemical bonding as they gear up for KS4 studies.
In the upper school, our new GCSE students will tackle forces and their interactions with the environment, before immersing themselves in the complex workings of homeostasis and how living organisms maintain balance. Year 11 students are in full mock exam mode, focusing on B1 (Biology), C1 (Chemistry), and P1 (Physics).
Once the mocks are complete, they'll jump straight into intensive final revision, reviewing practical work and reinforcing key concepts across all science disciplines.
It’s an action-packed, thought-provoking term ahead!
