World Book Day
World Book Day this year saw staff and pupils getting dressed up as their favourite book characters.
Pupils were involved in lots of different competitions, including Guess the Shelfie, A Book Quiz, Design a Bookmark and Finish the Short Story Competition. The top prize of a Kindle Fire was awarded to Mahira Islam 9H (KS3 Short Story Competition Winner) and Zakaria Yusuf 11B (KS4 Short Story Competition Winner). Two spectacular short stories about Superheroes were submitted. Watch out Marvel Comics you have fierce competition!
It was a particularly great day for Mahira because she and Jesica Uddin both received a £10 gift voucher as a prize to reward their winning entries in the Design a Bookmark Competition.
And, if that wasn't enough, 30 year 7 and 8 pupils went to visit the author Jacqueline Wilson at York Hall in Bethnal Green, rounding off another fantastically creative World Book Day at Bow A massive thank you to all staff and pupils that got involved for the 20th Birthday of World Book Day.
