Y9 &10 TH Basketball competition - WINNERS 🏆

After a fiercely contested group stage that saw arguably the top three teams in the tournament - Bow, Bishop, and Canary Wharf - battling for just two qualifying spots, all three finished with two wins and one loss.

Thanks to our superior points tally, we topped the group and secured a semi-final matchup against the second-place team from Pool B. We coasted through this game and guaranteed a spot in the final and at least a silver medal.

With the final now the only game remaining and the colour of the silverware still unknown, the team set their sights on a rematch against Bishop - the only side to defeat us in the group stage. The stakes were high, and the atmosphere was intense, amplified by the sweltering heat on the hottest day of the year.
The final consisted of two intense six-minute halves. Kayvee set the tone early, attacking the paint relentlessly and earning repeated trips to the free-throw line. At the half-time buzzer, we held a narrow two-point lead.
The second half was a back-and-forth slugfest. For five and a half gruelling minutes, Bow and Bishop traded baskets and momentum. With just 30 seconds remaining and Bow clinging to a two-point lead, Tofi earned a critical trip to the line. The pressure was immense. On the outside, the manager remained composed - but inside, he was in turmoil. One free throw would all but secure overtime. Two would seal the win.
True to form, Tofi delivered. Ice in his veins, he drained both free throws - nothing but net. Game, set, and match. Bow win.
And just to put the cherry on top? Tyrese hit a buzzer-beating three, rubbing salt into the wounds and sending a message: Bow means business.
Bow 27 Bishop 19.
If you see the boys around, give them a big cheer. They represented Bow School to the highest level, and we am incredibly proud.
