Year 10 Gain Real-World Experience

Our Year 10 students recently stepped beyond the classroom and into the workplace as part of Work Experience Week, gaining valuable insight into a wide range of industries and career pathways.

Throughout the week, students completed placements with organisations including HMRC, local primary schools, architecture practices and a variety of businesses across the local community. These experiences gave students the opportunity to develop workplace skills, build confidence and gain a greater understanding of the world of work.

We were incredibly proud of the professionalism, enthusiasm and maturity shown by our students, who represented Bow School exceptionally well and embraced every opportunity to learn from employers.

Students who remained in school took part in the ‘You’re Hired’ programme, delivered by the Switch Charity alongside professionals from a range of industries. Working collaboratively on finance and construction projects, students developed key employability skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills, while gaining a deeper understanding of different career sectors.

Work Experience Week is an important part of our commitment to ensuring every student leaves World and Career Ready. By connecting classroom learning with real-life experiences, students are empowered to explore their ambitions, develop essential life skills and make informed decisions about their futures.
