Year 10 Students Explore Creative Careers at the National Maritime Museum

Year 10 students recently attended an engaging and inspiring STEM careers workshop at the National Maritime Museum last term, designed to introduce them to the wide range of opportunities within the STEM sectors.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students to meet and collaborate with other young creatives, while gaining practical advice on how to begin shaping their future career pathways.

Through an interactive careers talk, students explored different roles and learned about routes into these industries, including where to find paid opportunities and how to build relevant experience.

A key highlight of the day was the chance for students to create their own CV zines, combining collage and written content to present their skills, interests and ambitions in a unique and creative format. This activity encouraged students to think differently about how they present themselves and their strengths.

In addition, structured conversation prompts supported students in developing their networking skills, helping them to confidently engage with peers and professionals.

The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, develop creativity and gain a deeper understanding of the skills needed for future careers.
