Year 12 Theatre trip -Venice and Vegas collide!

On the 18th December, eight literature A level students accompanied by the English team visited the Almeida theatre to watch a production of ‘The Merchant of Venice’. The play, reinvigorated by Rupert Goold, was taken out from its original setting and placed in Viva Las Vegas! As you can imagine, all the frolics of Sin city were adapted into the play justifying the comic genre that Shakespeare intended. The play was one of two the boys had seen in the last two weeks and some were able to quote lines from the play! From an Elvis impersonator to Texas girls, the show never failed to provide entertainment. All in all it was a great night out!
