Bow School

Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence Award

Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence Award

Bow School was successfully reaccredited with the Young Enterprise Centre of Excellence Award on Tuesday 7th November – one of only 2 secondary schools across the country to be reaccredited with this prestigious award.

Many young people have benefitted over the last few years, with the support of our external partners, in providing financial literacy and enterprise education across the whole school.

In the present economic climate it is more important than ever that we educate young people about money. Britain now has one of the highest consumer debt ratios in the entire world. This has resulted in a significant increase in mental illness due to the pressure and stress of debt related issues. Therefore, it is our job to ensure that young people make more informed decisions in the future and help prevent this cycle from materialising itself in families across our borough.

Moving forward, Bow School are hoping to run financial literacy sessions for parents and offer our expertise to other schools across the borough. Further information will be provided in future newsletters.

It is only through improved education and knowledge regarding financial literacy that we can help to prevent debt and reduce the impact it has on mental illness.

Let's work together and break this cycle!
