Students compete in Virgin London Mini Marathon Trials
On Thursday 9th February afternoon 15 boys from Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 took part in the trials for the Virgin London Mini Marathon. The competition was split into two races, U13 and U15.
The U13 race had about 150 competitors from across the borough. Salim Miah (Yr8) finished in a very respectable 11th place just missing out on a place in the London Mini Marathon. In the same race Lokman Hussain (Yr7) finished in 18th place. The other results are as follows; Rene Haynes (Yr8) 19th place; Jaynul Islam (Yr 8) 21st place; Nahid Ahmed (Yr 9) 30th place; Misba Rhaman (Yr9) 39th place; Naief Ahmed (Yr7) 48th place;; William Evans (Yr 7) 57th place; Nabil Uddin (Yr 7) 58th place; Ahqlak Miah (Yr 8) 142nd place and Mahir Uddin (Yr 7) 143rd place.
The U15 race followed the U13 with slightly less competitors. Bemnet Beraki (Yr 10) and Franco Mici (Yr 10) secured a place in the London Mini Marathon coming 2nd and 5th respectively. Kiesse Andre claimed a reserve place finishing in 13th place.
